Basement dweller, fortune’s teller, pawnshop seller.
He was dyslexic.
The practice room muted all sound.
Guitarist struck a chord with no-one.
Dead eyed, he taught beginner cello.
The club he played was empty.
“Goodbye horn.” He took the punch-card.
Wrong note. Suicide note. Footnote.
A dusty guitar longs for more.
The music in his heart died
Strung out guitarist lost her pluck.
Cobain slain by his own trigger.
“And I ran” out the door.
Axl Rose lost a little “Patience.”
The audience stared at their phones.
There: me, the bartender, the soundman.
She was experimental before her time.
Music to his ears, played disaster.
Where do I plug this in?
